Yes, not only can you elope at a Sandals Resort, but it is a great option for a couple looking for an affordable and carefree wedding.
We love helping couples elope at a Sandals Resort since it makes everything so relaxed. Sometimes that means having a few guests or sometimes its just the bride and groom, either way its a great idea.
Why Elope at Sandals?
First, Sandals makes it easy. You will have someone to contact to get everything set up including documentation.
Second, eloping at Sandals is very affordable. There is a package that is complimentary when the Bride and Groom stay for 7 nights or longer in Club or Butler categories. So if you pay for a week-long stay and the government fees the entire cost including accommodations could be just a few thousand dollars, depending on which resort you stay at.
Another great reason to elope at Sandals Resorts is that none of the Caribbean islands where Sandals resorts are located require any blood tests or medical exams to get married! Plus, all Sandals weddings come with a complimentary onsite wedding planner to take care of all the details for your special day.
The Sandals Beautiful Beginnings package (see below for details) offers a great wedding for nothing more than the cost of your room. This package is good for up to 8 guests including the bride and groom, so if you want to have a few close friends or family members at the ceremony, you can. But if you want to elope in the traditional way with just the two of you, you can do that as well.
Tip: While the Beautiful Beginnings package is free, neither it nor any of the other Sandals elopement packages include the mandatory government fees. These range from $95 in Jamaica to $325 for weddings in Barbados; your Sandals wedding planner will be able to tell you what the local fee is and how to pay it, as well as assist you with the necessary paperwork. Figure these fees into your Sandals elopement cost.
Sandals Wedding Packages
Sandals Resorts offer “Customizable Weddings,” with a range of packages that you can use as a base and then add options on to personalize your celebration. If you book 5 or more guest rooms, you can add “Bells and Whistles” to your weddings such as tiki torches, a sangria bar, and a lobster wedding dinner.
You can also create a completely custom elopement at Sandals by choosing from a wide variety of options and ceremony locations—including an incredible overwater wedding chapel (at certain locations; see below for details).
One extra you can add is the Kiss Me at Twilight package ($600), which ensures your ceremony will be held at that magical twilight hour and includes a unity sand ceremony.
A great incentive that Sandals offer is the Preview Your Wedding package. For discounted rates (starting at $250 per couple per night) you can stay up to 3 nights at the resort you’re considering for your elopement, look at venues, meet with a wedding planner, and go over menus and cake options. This is an excellent way to make sure you’ve chosen the best Sandals location for you and to get a real feel for how your wedding there will be. And if you’re having guests, you’ll get up to a $1050 credit if you book your wedding there and reserve at least 5 rooms.
Which are the best Sandals resorts to elope at?
It depends on what sort of ceremony you want to have when you elope at Sandals. Here are some of the wedding locations at the different Sandals resorts.
For the ultimate unique wedding experience, how about getting married on a secluded island? The private island at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica is a stunning setting for weddings. Just a short boat ride away from the resort, this beautiful spot has gorgeous white sand beaches and amazing amenities like a pool with a swim-up bar and a beautiful Asian-inspired restaurant. Daybeds shaded by thatched roofs are dotted along the beach.
Do you want to walk down a glass floor aisle in a stunning overwater chapel, surrounded by 360-degree views of the Caribbean? Just four Sandals locations offer Over-the-Water Wedding Chapels: Sandals South Coast, Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Ochi in Jamaica, and Sandals Grande St. Lucian in St. Lucia.
Sandals also offer Over-the-Water Gazebos, at Sandals Royal Bahamian in The Bahamas, Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica, and Sandals Grande St. Lucian in St. Lucia.
At Sandals Royal Barbados, you can get married on the Sky Terrace beside a rooftop pool, overlooking the sparkling turquoise sea.
Sandals Montego Bay offers the Intimate Resort Chapel, a secluded spot with a more traditional feel. A charming path through lush greenery and fountain pools leads to the white chapel, which features a vaulted ceiling, wooden pews, stained glass windows, and an elevated altar.
All Sandals resorts except the Barbados location offer an open-air Oceanfront Gazebo overlooking the beautiful Caribbean. Most Sandals locations offer a Garden Gazebo as well, which is tucked amid tropical gardens near the sea.
For a sophisticated setting, you can get married in the European Wedding Garden, featuring a white pergola surrounded by manicured lawns, beautiful blooms, and elegant water features. This is available at Sandals Emerald Bay in The Bahamas, Sandals Ochi in Jamaica, and Sandals Grande Antigua in Antigua.
And of course, at every Sandals location, you can get married on a pristine beach, with the ocean just steps away.
On the Sandals website, you can explore each of these locations in detail.
Consider Using a Sandals Travel Agent to Help You Elope at Sandals
Even if it’s just the two of you, you may want to work with a Sandals travel agent to help you find the best Sandals resort to elope to, and help plan your trip. A Preferred Sandals Specialist is a travel advisor who specializes in booking travel to Sandals locations and is recognized as an expert. They go through an extensive education program about Sandals Resorts and keep up to date on the latest information.
You’ll want to find a travel consultant who is a Sandals Weddings Specialist. They know everything about the various wedding and honeymoon packages available and can match you with the best options and resorts for what you want.
Sandals travel agents can save you money, above and beyond the usual discounts you find online. They’re able to get the lowest price, and they know which upgrades are worth your money and which aren’t. Also, they have access to extra options. And since they book so much travel with Sandals resorts, they can make sure that special requests are taken care of.
Plus, they can help during your trip if any problems come up. They usually monitor the area for weather issues or other factors that can impact you on your Sandals vacation, and can easily reschedule flights or make itinerary changes if you need it.
