Sandals Saint Vincent: Everything We Know & Reviews

Sandals has been promising a new updated, upgraded approach to their new resorts and we’ve seen some progress over the years with their newest resorts at Sandals Curacao and Sandals Dunn’s River, and Sandals Saint Vincent is a step above!

Our recent stay at the newly opened Sandals Saint Vincent was nothing short of spectacular, quickly becoming one of our favorite Sandals properties. Tucked away in a valley between lush mountains and a stunning beach, this resort offers a distinct and luxurious experience that sets it apart from other Sandals locations. This resort has embodied the Sandals 2.0 experience that blew away our expectations.

Sandals Saint Vincent is a tropical paradise with beautifully manicured grounds and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and ocean. The resort features four diverse pools, from the lively main pool with a swim-up bar and occasional DJ to the tranquil heart-shaped spa pool. The pristine white sand beach, paired with clear blue waters, is perfect for unwinding and enjoying extensive water sports like kayaking, paddleboarding, and motorized activities.

Located in Saint Vincent, part of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines archipelago, the resort offers an authentic Caribbean experience. The island’s natural beauty, including the active volcano La Soufrière, and its commitment to soft tourism make it a unique and intimate destination.

Arriving at Sandals Saint Vincent

As guests in a bulter suite, we were able to take advantage of the boat transfer on “Jilly Bean.” The other option is a 40-minute drive that is fairly windy but has amazing views along the way.

After arriving at the resort we checked in and were quickly escorted to our room.

Rooms & Villas

For our stay at the resort, we were in one of the best suites, the Beachfront One-bedroom Butler Villa Suite with a private pool. The villa has a very large with a living room, bar area, an area with a foosball table, a huge bathroom, and a bedroom area

Outside the room is the beachfront pool which is a perfect place to relax and spend your day.

We have heard some people worried about the lack of privacy for these pools, but when we were there most people stayed at another area of the pool during the day so we didn’t find that an issue.

We loved having the pool there for us to enjoy. It was perfect for us to hop in whenever we needed to cool off and it was perfect for hopping in the pool at the end of the night.

There are many other villas and rooms to choose from including garden villas, swim-up suites, and overwater villas.

Pool Review

There are 4 main pools at Sandals Saint Vincent.

Main Pool

• Atmosphere: The main pool is the lively heart of the resort. It’s visible from the lobby and features a swim-up bar, making it a popular spot for socializing and enjoying drinks.

• Features: This pool hosts daily activities such as trivia, live music performances, and DJ sessions. During our stay, we enjoyed performances by a saxophonist and a violinist, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

• Temperature: The water tends to get a bit warm in the summer, making it perfect for evening swims.

Crescent Pool

• Location: Situated behind the main pool, the Crescent Pool offers a quieter, more relaxed environment.

• Proximity: It’s close to the swim-up suites, making it a convenient spot for guests staying in those rooms.

• Ambiance: With numerous cabanas around, it provides a serene place to unwind and relax throughout the day.

Beachfront Infinity Pool

• Scenic Views: This two-tiered pool is located outside the Parasol restaurant, offering stunning views of the beach.

• Convenience: Its prime location near the beach and several dining options makes it a favorite spot. However, it can be challenging to find a chair with an umbrella here. Guests often move beach chairs closer to the pool area to enjoy both the beach and the pool.

• Ambiance: This pool is ideal for relaxing while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Heart-Shaped Spa Pool

• Tranquility: Located near the spa, this heart-shaped pool is perfect for quiet relaxation and a peaceful escape.

Beach Review

The resort’s beach is beautiful, with plenty of chairs and umbrellas, and the clear water is refreshing on hot days.

• Sand and Water: The beach features pristine white sand that contrasts beautifully with the clear, blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. The sand was brought in from elsewhere in the Caribbean, replacing the original black sand to create a more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment.
• Scenery: Surrounded by lush, tropical vegetation and dramatic mountain views, the beach provides a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and recreation.
• Chairs and Umbrellas: The beach is well-equipped with plenty of comfortable chairs and umbrellas, offering ample space for guests to lounge and enjoy the sun or shade.
• Beach Bar: A convenient beach bar serves refreshing drinks on the far end of the beach, allowing guests to enjoy a cocktail or a cool beverage without having to leave the sand.

For those interested in experiencing the natural black sand, a village next to the resort still has its original black sand beach. It’s easily accessible by crossing a small bridge, providing a unique and authentic local experience.

Food Review

Dining at the resort is a gastronomic delight, with eleven exceptional dining options ranging from a sushi bar to local cuisine, ensuring every meal is memorable. The spacious, well-appointed suites offer luxurious amenities for a comfortable stay. The service is outstanding, with genuine Vincentian hospitality adding warmth to the entire experience.

The dining options at Sandals Saint Vincent are exceptional. For breakfast, guests can enjoy a buffet with made-to-order omelets, or visit the à la carte restaurant, the coffee shop for pastries, or order room service. Lunch offerings include The Jerk Shack, a pizza place with a brick oven, and a salad spot where you can customize your own salad.

Dinner at Buccan is a highlight, with local cuisine served family-style. Other dining options include an Italian restaurant, Sora, seafood-focused Scrimshaw, and the Asian-inspired Gatsu Gatsu. Between meals, guests can enjoy coffee at Blum or ice cream at Crema.
