Asia is a vast continent full of rich culture, history, and diverse climates and geographies. Most honeymoons in Asia are imagined on the beach of one of the many tropical island paradise. Not only does the climate attract people, but the relatively cheap prices as well. On your vacation, you can find adventure, relaxation, spiritual tuning and plenty of fun with whatever you get yourself into. To give you some ideas, we asked other travel bloggers and experts where they recommend people go if they are looking to honeymoon in Asia.
Indonesia
Indonesia is an amazing place that is relatively inexpensive to honeymoon at with delicious food, beautiful beaches, rich culture, inspiring temples and plenty of fun things to do. It’s easy to find an affordable private villa to enjoy as you celebrate the start of a marriage. Spend some time relaxing and enjoying spa services at great prices to relax or be adventurous by going surfing, scuba diving or white water rafting. Make sure you engage with the local culture and go to a few of the temples to meditate and rest your mind so you leave your honeymoon energized and relaxed.
Bali
Couples seeking for the most romantic getaways have been traveling Ubud, the spiritual center of Bali. It is a truly great place for spending your honeymoon in a quiet and luxury surrounding.Choose between a wide range of hotels and resorts in and around the town of Ubud in central Bali and be surrounded by seemingly endless rice fields and jungle-like hillsides. A great place to stay is Chapung Se Bali Resort and Spa ($$$$), a luxury hotel that is located in Sambahan, within 3 mi (5 km) of Gunung Lebah Temple. Spend your days in your private villa, take a swim in your private pool, get your breakfast served right at your doorstep and enjoy the spectacular views of the rice fields.Clemens Sehi – Travellers Archive
While in Bali, but outside of Ubud, your money will go quite a bit further on accommodations. You can find villas with private pools for around $150 a night.
Nusa Islands
The Nusa islands, a trio of islands just off the south-east coast of Bali, are some of the lesser-known paradise islands for the ultimate honeymoon getaway. Nusa Penida is known for its Instagram-worthy viewpoints overlooking crystal clear waters and turquoise lagoons, while Nusa Ceningan is a chilled-out island with a mixture of luxury resorts and tropical-chic beach huts. Nusa Lembongan is visited for its Crystal Bay, Dream Beach and the Blue Lagoon, and all three islands offer world-class snorkeling among brightly-colored fish, manta rays and turtles. There are also peaceful mangrove swamps that are great for kayaking- guests will forget that they are a stone’s throw away from civilization as they steer through the water and look out for wildlife along the way.
Visiting the Nusa islands allows honeymooners to experience the incredible weather, food and beaches that Bali is famed for, while offering a more secluded and back-to-nature experience. Hop on a fast boat from Bali’s south coast and visit all three islands on a snorkeling or diving trip, or spend a longer time on each for the perfect start to wedded bliss.

Lombok
Lombok in Indonesia is becoming one of the most sought-after honeymoon destinations in the South-East Asia and there are plenty of reasons as to why. This beautiful island has a large selection of spectacular and very affordable 4 and 5-star resorts on offer. Apart from spoiling yourselves to gorgeous pools and lush spa treatments at the resorts, you can also head out and explore a great range of natural wonders.
On the top of our list of best things to do in Lombok is day visits to the beautiful Lombok beaches. These include the magical white sandy beach of Selong Belanak, stunning pink sand of Tangsi Beach and of course Kuta. For those after more adventure, why not scout out the incredible Tiu Kelep or Sendang Gile Waterfalls or hop on a speedboat and do a bit of fun-filled snorkeling around the Gili Islands. Unwind at the end of your day with some delicious cocktails. Kuta Cabana offers beautiful sunset views with cool breezes, great for ultimate relaxation vibes.

Gili Islands
A fast-boat ride away from Bali’s East Coast lies the tiny, yet impressive, Gili Islands. Gili is actually a misnomer and translates to “small island” in Sasak. Their correct names are Gili Trawangan (or Gili T), Gili Meno and Gili Air.
This triad of paradise has something for any couple hoping to have a unique getaway. Gasoline powered motorbikes are banned on all 3 islands, so pollution is minimal. Gili T, the largest of the three, is all about the party and not the most popular spot for honeymooners. Gili Meno, the middle island, is the complete opposite. It has an isolated feel, where the noise is kept to a minimum and the white sand beaches are pristine. It is the most popular of the 3 islands for honeymooners due to its calm, luxurious and romantic ambiance. It’s also the best spot for snorkeling.
Gili Air is the smallest and is somewhere between Meno and Trawangan in feel. There are beachside bars and bbq joints, open-air film screenings, massage parlors and a general fun vibe. Island hopping is also really easy and cheap. So make Air or Meno as your base and incorporate all three islands into your once in a lifetime journey.

Borneo
Borneo is the perfect place, to visit if you are planning on having a honeymoon trip that you will never forget. Philippines
We recommend Flower Island Resort near Palawan island in the Philippines. We came here to celebrate our 7th year anniversary and completely fell in love with it.
Flower Island Resort is located on its own island, around 1 hour’s boat ride from Taytay port in Palawan. You stay in your own beautifully decorated cottage, which is located right on the beach, each with large four poster bed, huge living space, private bathroom and front balcony area complete with hammocks.
The island is surrounded by healthy coral, making it ideal for snorkeling, and the water is lush – perfect for swimming, lounging and just taking in as much Vitamin Sea together. The staff are super friendly and will personally design your activities during your stay so that you get the most out of it. This was by far the best, most luxurious place we stayed during our big trip in Asia.”

Coron
Palawan has been named as the best island in the world where Coron and El Nido, home of the greatest beaches in the world, resides. Coron will definitely be always a choice for honeymooners who’d love to roam and explore the beaches or dive to see the wrecks underwater forming a bond with the ocean or just purely relax without any particular reason but to enjoy each other’s company. Couples definitely will love the ocean views and the island life offered by this town in Palawan.
With the island tour packages and food offerings, Coron will surely take your breath away. White beaches, hot springs, shipwreck dives, lakes and rock formations, generous and kind people, and posh hotels are waiting for you to not miss the pleasure and recreation this place has to offer. There’s also a safari life waiting for visitors two hours from the main town where you could enjoy being with wild animals and nature.

El Nido
Located in the Philipeans with white sand beaches and clear ocean water, El Nido is no doubt one of the top honeymoon destinations in the world. But El Nido is more than just a tropical beach paradise. Comprised of 45 islands and islets, each with its own geological formation and charm, there are endless opportunities for adventure and exploration. Even if you just want to unwind and relax on your honeymoon, El Nido has many secluded islands to make this possible!
The best way to enjoy El Nido is to stay on one of the islands. Apulit Island and Pangulasian Island, both as part of the El Nido Resorts, are the perfect locations for honeymooners. At Apulit Island, you will get to stay at a water cottage with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. It is not unusual to see fish swimming underneath! If you want to indulge in luxury, Pangulasian is the place to be, promising personalized service and ultimate privacy. But, really, no matter which island you end up going, you will sure have priceless memories that you will reminisce for years to come!

Antique
Perfect for lovebirds who prefer to stay in a thatched roof rather than a cemented hotel, Antique is the only province in the Philippines that offer Kawa hot bath which is soaking your half body inside a refurbished and oversized pot made of metal used to cook molasses hundreds of years ago. Herbal leaves (you can add flowers for better-looking photos) are poured into the water while chunks of wood are burned under the pot. Once the boiling point is reached, the steaming water emits a fragrance from these leaves that is perfect for relaxation. Sore muscles, creaking joints, and some ailments are cured by these native medicinal plants. Of course you have to wait until the water is warm before jumping off the pot, otherwise, you’ll be burned alive. This is surely way, way better than the usual bathtub thingy for couples. Other places to explore include the ampitheater-like rice fields, mossy forests, never heard waterfalls and otherwordly-looking rivers that could make your photos an envy to other honeymooners.

Thailand
If you have tried Thai food anywhere else in the world and loved it, just wait till you have it in Thailand. This is an excellent destination in Asia for a honeymoon for the amazing beaches and resorts catering and almost any budget.
Railay
Railay, located in Thailand between Ao Nang and Krabi, is a location unlike anywhere else. The inspiration behind the Avatar movie the Thai jungle surrounds the location with limestone karsts enclosing the area. Taking a long tail boat is the only way to access this secluded world, which can easily be organized from nearby Ao Nang or Krabi. Amazing resorts dot the shoreline with pools overlooking the ocean and restaurants right on the beach. You will truly be feeling the romance in this beautiful location whether you are relaxing poolside with a cocktail or soaking up the sun on the sand. Everywhere you look will confirm you have made it to paradise with palm trees swaying and colorful longtail boats bobbing in the ocean. Spend a romantic evening with a candlelit dinner on the beach, listening to the sound of waves crashing and monkeys playing as the setting sun turns the sky the most beautiful shades of orange and pink.

Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is a beautiful destination that many people do not consider for a honeymoon. Imagine being able to shop till you drop every night at the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, live the life of luxury but on a budget… Chiang Mai is a wonderful destination to consider for those reasons. If you are looking for a completely blissful resort outside of the hustle and bustle of the city you should check out the Anantara Resort Chiang Mai. Rooftop pools with views to die for, drinks made from flowers which change color, a schedule of classes including Tai Chi and learning to cook Thai food. You will never want to leave this hotel… for dinner check out their top-secret menu at the 1921 Service Restaurant in the old British Embassy – an experience some only ever dream of!

Sri Lanka
This paradise in the India Ocean makes for a wonderful honeymoon spot in Asia. The beaches backed by tea plantations and lines with palm trees and are a wonderful place to relax or even surf for the adventurous couples. We also love the food, hospitality, shopping, and exotic wildlife.
Nestled deep in the Sri Lankan Hill Country, set amongst 80 acres of pristine jungle and tea plantations lies a perfect slice of paradise – Living Heritage Koslanda . This is where you come to find absolute tranquillity in outstanding stylish luxury.
Choose from one of only 4 luxury villas, sympathetically designed to fit the magical setting, equipped with an outdoor plunge pool decorated with flower petals, a spacious open-air living area centred around an ornamental light-well, an elegant double bedroom boasting high A-frame beams and an outside seating area to while the hours away as you watch the clouds drift over the distant mountains.
Pinch yourself as you enjoy a romantic picnic lunch by the private waterfall followed by a dip in the natural pool beneath the jungle canopy. Or head to the infinity pool to watch the sunset over the paddy fields with a glass of fine champagne. Savor the sumptuous local and international cooking over candlelight in the restaurant or on your verandah. Then after dessert, snuggle by the campfire under a starlit sky as you discuss plans for the next chapter of your new life together.

Cambodia
Take advantage of the fact that Cambodia is a little less popular as a travel destination. That doesn’t mean it is any less of an amazing location that Thailand or the Philipeans. The beaches are far less busy and accommodations are even more affordable.
Siem Reap in Cambodia is probably one of the most exotic honeymoon destinations in Asia. It’s not a typical holiday on the beach in a 5* resort, however, it’s very interesting and unusual. It would be great for newlyweds, who prefer active holidays and love adventures. Siem Reap seemed to me like a very romantic place, with beautiful temples and ruins of Angkor Wat, gorgeous hotels and restaurants and plenty of things to do.
In order to explore Angkor Wat properly, you need at least 3 days. Also, there are many other interesting attractions not so far from Siem Reap, so give yourself at least 5-6 days to see the city and the surroundings properly. Another reason to visit Cambodia is that the country is very cheap, so you can experience luxury for less. You can stay at a spa resort in Siem Reap for less than $150 per night and even have spa procedures in the city every single day.

Maldives
The Maldives are a group of islands in the India Ocean that is one of the most sought-after tropical destinations in the worlds. They provide amazing options of both adventure and relaxation to visitors. Spend your time at one of the many luxurious or affordable resorts relaxing and enjoying being newlyweds on the white sand beaches with clear blue water. Go for a dive to see the coral and wildlife below.
Kandima is a brand new resort, located in Dhaalu Atoll, in the Maldives. The resort is a 45 minute domestic (or seaplane) flight from Male International airport. We visited in August as part of a family vacation with our children, but the resort caters for everyone – all ages, and ticks all boxes to ensure you have the vacation of your dreams.
Honeymooners will LOVE their Honeymoon Aqua Pool Villas. There are two of them located at the end of the over-sea walkways, above the beautiful azure blue lagoon with total privacy. The villas are very contemporary, spacious and luxurious. Outside on the decking area, you’ll find your very own infinity pool along with sun loungers and a bistro table with two chairs where you can watch the glorious sunsets together. I
If you can bear to leave your room, you are close to the new Beach Club area of the resort. Here you’ll find a larger pool and cabanas, a coffee shop and their BBQ restaurant ‘Smoked’. It’s a very cool hangout at sundown, with DJs overseeing the music as you sip on cocktails.
For the adventure-seeking honeymooners, Kandima has a fully-equipped water sports center … catering for virtually every water sport (snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skis, kayak, windsurfing, paragliding, banana-boats – and lots more). A fitness gym, spa, cycle hire, the Maldives’ longest swimming pool … there’s so much to do on the paradise island that is Kandima … if honeymooners can tear themselves away from their luxurious accommodation that is!

Japan
With a rich culture and deep history, Japan is an unforgettable place to visit and makes for a unique honeymoon. Enjoy a sense of peace at the many Zen gardens and temples. Find a good sushi restaurant to enjoy it in the country it originated in. You will also notice immaculate service everywhere you go from friendly and helpful people.
Okinawa
Okinawa is the southernmost prefecture of Japan, located furthest from the rest of the country, situated between mainland Taiwan and Japan. The series of islands that make up Okinawa are a mixture of subtropical and tropical climates, making it a great destination for a beach getaway.
The islands offer stunning sandy beaches and turquoise blue water, meaning there are great opportunities for snorkeling and exploring underwater. In addition to being a great beach vacation, Okinawa is proud of its unique culture, language, and food that is different from the rest of Japan. If you’re looking to combine beautiful beaches with delicious local cuisine, Okinawa is the ideal honeymoon destination. The Okinawan noodles that can be found throughout the island are especially worth trying. The dishes available on the islands can often not be found anywhere else in the country, or the world. Okinawa is ideal for anyone seeking natural beauty along with an authentic food experience.

Luxury Ryokan in Kyoto
Japan has always been for me a very romantic destination and therefore the best pick for a honeymoon. From the sakura blooming to the snow covering the roofs of wooden houses, each season seems to be as magical as the next. But nothing is as romantic as Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, which has kept a lot of its historic buildings in the area of Gion.
If you are interested in the local culture you must have heard of ryokan, a Japanese hotel of a very traditional design, with tatamis, wooden baths and shared onsens (public hot baths). And where better than Kyoto to go through this experience? While there are many at different price ranges, it is worth splurging for a bit of luxury. With staff at your disposal and a fantastic kaiseki breakfast (a multi-course meal beautifully presented), it will be hard to leave your room to explore Kyoto.
Push the experience further and order a Geisha dinner in addition to another kaiseki course. You’ll be entertained by some of Kyoto’s best Geikos and Maikos for the evening before getting back to your room and enjoying the onsen. This will, no doubt, make your honeymoon unforgettable.

Laos
A little less known country in between Thailand and Vietnam, Laos is an amazing country for a honeymoon destination. It is landlocked so you will not find a beach, but there are beautiful rivers with tons of waterfalls to enjoy.
Vang Vieng, Laos
Typically, people wouldn’t think that Vang Vieng, Laos and Honeymoons are two things that go together…but I beg to differ. When we were planning a trip to Vang Vieng everyone just talked about the rowdy backpacker culture, but we were surprised to discover that there is quite a bit of luxury in Vang Vieng too. This combined with the incredible natural landscapes quiet rural setting makes for a wonderful honeymoon destination that includes adventures by day and luxury by night.
Honeymooners can easily avoid the party scene and spend their days hiking and exploring caves, floating the river, taking a dip in the gorgeous blue lagoon, riding in a hot air balloon, zip-lining, mountain climbing, or enjoying Lao massage. The Silver Naga Resort has one of the best infinity pools overlooking the river and mountains, while the Riverside Boutique has unparalleled service and gourmet food. There are also numerous boutique villas and resorts among lovely rice paddies, far from the noise of town. Those who love adventure, natural landscapes, and luxury will really enjoy Vang Vieng for their honeymoon.
Liz Smith – Peanuts or Pretzels
With Luang Prabang’s easy vibe and numerous offerings, honeymooners really can’t go wrong with this charming town. Located in northern Laos, Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most delightful little cities in the region. Dotted with Buddhist temples and French colonial architecture, happy couples have ample opportunity for romantic strolls among the beautiful scenery. Always an added bonus, the streets are safe and the locals will greet you with a friendly “Sabaidee”.
A leisurely cruise along the Mekong River on a local boat is a relaxing way to watch the world go by as fisherman cast their nets and villagers go about their daily routine. Time it right and couples can cap off their boat ride with a spectacular sunset. Wake up early to catch orange-robed monks emerge from their temple to collect alms at dawn. Drive through the countryside to take a dip in turquoise pools part of beautiful waterfalls. Luang Prabang may be a quiet little town but there is no shortage of activities to keep visitors happy.

Myanmar
For any newlyweds looking to enjoy Asia, they need to highly consider the forgotten gem of the southeast, Naypyidaw, Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). Myanmar has recently seen a resurgence in tourism and Naypyidaw has become one of the newest capitals in the world.
Since the old capital was moved from Yangon, the new capital has seen plenty of tourists travel through. The city boasts grand hotels, ample sightseeing, low prices, an air conditioned penguin exhibit, and other luxurious sights. Perhaps the most attractive? It isn’t crowded. In fact, Naypyidaw is so sparsely populated that seeing congestion-free highways and sidewalks is not uncommon.
Other attractions are large sporting stadiums, Buddhist temples, elaborate fountains, and local wildlife. The people are friendly and pricing is affordable for most foreigners. If you’re looking to get the most bang for your buck and a truly unique experience, honeymooning in Naypidaw is a must-do. No other city is quite like it.

South Korea
Wheather you are looking for white sand beaches, beautiful islands or mountains for skiing, South Korea could be the perfect place for you. The country is full of rich culture and delicious food worth the trip.
Jeju Island is where the locals know to go on a honeymoon. The Island has the highest peak in South Korea, the dormant volcano Hallasan. Additionally, you can hike through lava tubes including the UNESCO Geopark, the Manjang cave. While on your honeymoon at Jeju island it is essential you visit one of the several beaches and then make your way to Jeju Loveland, a sculpture park full of oversized nudes in moments of ecstasy.
If you are looking for a winter honeymoon destination visit the future home of the 2018 Winter Olympics, Gangwon-do, Korea. Kerala
Kerala the coastal state in India draws travelers for the beaches, serene backwaters, lush mountain ranges, waterfalls and intriguing history. Spend a day winding through the sprawling tea plantations in the beautiful hill station of Munnar and sip on unlimited cups of fresh tea on a visit to the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate.
Munnar is also home to the fine quality of spices which you can discover on a stroll through the sweet aroma of the spice gardens. If you want to just relish the vistas and do nothing then hop onto a houseboat in Alleppey and sail on the calm backwaters along the swaying palms and quaint villages. And at the same time devour on some local seafood specialties prepared by local chefs onboard. Or stay in one of the homestays in Wayanad and enjoy the impeccable hospitability while you explore the rich flora and fauna the region has to offer. Pelling
Picturesque landscapes, tranquil surroundings, secluded environs, lovely weather, stars in the eyes and dreams in the mind. These are the stuff that dream honeymoons are made of. If you want to honeymoon in such enchanting surroundings, then you must head to Pelling, a small town in the North-Eastern Indian state of Sikkim. This picture postcard perfect town nestles at a height of about 7,200 feet amidst lush green hills. If you get time to look away from the depth of the eyes of your partner, do not forget to treat your visual senses to stunning views of the Kanchenjunga and the Himalayas. On a clear day, the first rays of the sun transform the snow-clad peaks into bright, glistening orbs of gold, indeed a sight of pure bliss.
Spectacular waterfalls, a lake that is the epitome of calm and serenity, monasteries that have an aura of spirituality and mysticism complete the surreal picture that is Pelling. A honeymoon in Pelling is nothing short of some time grabbed in paradise.

Kashmir
I highly recommend Kashmir, known as the true heaven on the earth for centuries and where I was able to Honeymoon. We went in Fabruary when it was all laden with white snow and that made it look pure and pristine.
Political conflicts have done one good thing to this place as they ensured that it still not exposed to commercial tourism and thus it offers real old world charm amidst Himalaya. Lakes and snowcapped mountains make it so surreal and romantic that you would like to go back to this place again in your lifetime.
It offers great vistas in every season, but I recommend winter as best time for a Honeymoon amidst snow in all direction and breathtaking landscapes. Once in Kashmir, take time to explore Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam. While you are there stay in one of the charming houseboats, go on a Shikara ride on Dal lake with Himalaya as a backdrop and enjoy a gandola ride in Gulmarg which is highest gandola ride in the world.
