The Best Sandals Resort? Why We Love Sandals Grenada

Sandals had big plans when they purchased a shuttered, hurricane-ravaged resort in Grenada and rebuilt it to be one of the most innovative and lavish resorts in their entire portfolio.

You’ll have a stellar stay at any of Sandals’ all-inclusive luxury resorts, but Sandals Grenada Resort & Spa is the best value and may very well be the overall best Sandals Resort.

Here are some of the reasons that make this island paradise one of our favorites.

1. “Location, Location, Location”

The Stunning Property

Sandals Grenada has one of the best locations for a Sandals Resort, sprawling across 17 lush acres on the southwestern tip of the island and features villa-style accommodations and amenities spread across the picturesque backdrop of Pink Gin Beach.

Firepits, gazebos, and swinging chairs adorn the various courtyards and hideaways for lovers to steal away for romantic moments. There is also a pier where guests can get the best view of the vibrant sunset hues over the shimmering Caribbean Sea.

5 Minutes From The Airport

Nothing snaps you back to reality faster than a hurried commute back to the airport to get on your return flight, but Sandals Grenada takes that typical worry out of the equation because it is conveniently located 5 minutes from the airport, one of the best commutes for a Sandals Resort.

This also allows guests to become immediately immersed upon arrival, as you may feasibly transition from landing to enjoying a poolside cocktail in mere minutes.

2. The Rooms

With 225 rooms available, Sandals Grenada is smaller and more intimate compared to other massive Sandals resorts. Each room is carefully curated emphasizing quality over quantity in every detail.

Luxury-level rooms are well-priced and some offer extras like balconies, patios, and outdoor soaking tubs where you may soak away stress and soak in the sun simultaneously. While these are the most modest accommodations available at Sandals Grenada, they would easily pass as the best suite in any other hotel.

For true indulgence, the Love Nest Butler Suites are the best stay you can have anywhere in the Caribbean. There’s ample space for ambling about, and the rooms offer furnishings such as indoor dining tables, plush sofas, clawfoot bathtubs, and fully-stocked wet bars at your disposal.

Not a mixologist? Don’t sweat it. The suites are Butler Elite level, which means you have a personal butler at your service who is more than capable of mixing a mean cocktail at your command.

Step out on the expansive balcony for the real main attraction– a Tranquility soaking tub and a private plunging pool with an infinity edge that puts you up high to admire the beauty of the Grenadian coast.

Some Love Nest Butler Suites even include a private whirlpool to soak away stress and enjoy a chilled glass of champagne with your sweetie.

3. The Amenities

Sandals Grenada & Spa features 5 innovatively designed pools complete with waterfalls, lagoons, hideaways, swim-up bars, and one with a firepit placed smack dab in the middle.

If you’re more inclined for a dip in the ocean, Pink Gin Beach is located at the southernmost point of the resort and offers watersports such as windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, jet skis, and many more all complimentary.

In addition, the resort has a state-of-the-art fitness center, a luxurious spa, ping pong, pool tables, shuffleboard, bocce ball, beach volleyball, and don’t forget the tennis courts which are lit at night for tennis anytime!

4. The Decadent Dining

Guests at Sandals Grenada have 10 restaurant options that combined serve a comprehensive smorgasbord of global cuisines.

Try the award-winning Butch’s Chophouse for the finest prime cuts of meat, indulgent side dishes, and an array of sauces to sample in a dining room of plush furnishings, glossy wood finishes, and an intimate ambiance.

For dinner and a show, Kimonos Oriental Cuisine allows guests to enjoy Teppanyaki amidst exotic and authentic Asian decor. Soy Sushi Bar also offers Asian cuisine with the freshest sushi you can find anywhere.

Perhaps you prefer a full-bodied red wine and hearty bolognese from Cucina Romana’s open-air location. Feast on Italian fare that’s just like nonna used to make. Unlike other all-inclusive resorts, there are no premium upcharges anywhere and everything on every menu is included. Mangia!

5. The Island Adventures

The excursions offered at Sandals Grenada are some of the most immersive, awe-inspiring, and culturally rich experiences available in the Caribbean.

Annandale Rainforest and Waterfall Dune Buggy Tour

What’s cooler than taking in the scenery of Grenada’s Morne Jaloux Ridge?

Cruising through it in a two-person dune buggy that you get to drive. That’s what.

Follow a trained guide through the Annandale Rainforest and visit various vistas for some of the best island views available on the island. Tours wrap through the bustling villages of Beaulieu and Constantine and, unlike some popular vacation spots, tourists need not be wary of the locals. They are friendly and welcoming towards island guests.

The tour concludes at the breathtaking Grand Etang Lake and Annandale Falls, a great swimming spot surrounded by walls of volcanic rock.

Wonders of Grenada Swim and Snorkeling Cruise

Snorkeling is not unusual for frequent jetsetters and tropical vacationers, but Grenada is home to the world’s first and one of its few underwater sculpture parks. Guests first board a power yacht and visit the park for an underwater exploration like no other, then head to the Grand Anse Beach for soft white sand and unparalleled relaxation.

Of course, refreshments are offered from start to finish to make for an all-around excellent excursion.

Best of Grenada Historical Spice Tour

What most guests may not realize is the rich history of Grenada and two of their chief exports– nutmeg and chocolate.

Spice tours take tourists to the Gouyave Nutmeg Cooperative and provide a firsthand look at the island’s “black gold” processing station. The tour then visits the Diamond Chocolate Factory and Cocoa Estate for insight into traditional chocolate farming techniques and finishes at the Belmont Estate where lunch is served and guests can sample River Antoine Rum, a rum made locally using 200-year-old techniques and waterpower.

Get to Grenada
