While the overwater bungalows at the other Sandals resorts get a lot of attention, I prefer the Awa Seaside Butler Bungalow at Sandals Royal Curaçao. These bungalows have the largest private swimming pools of any at a Sandals Resort.
These bungalows sit right along the water’s edge, giving you an uninterrupted view of the beach. We spent hours just soaking it all in from our private infinity pool, not only because that’s what we came here for, but because it was so relaxing to be able to enjoy the pool with a calming yet engaging view.
Inside, the bungalow was beautifully designed with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and rich textures throughout.
The bathroom had double vanities, a walk-in rain shower, and a backlit mirror set against mosaic tiles that made getting ready feel like a spa experience. The toilet had a sliding door for privacy. There isn’t an outdoor shower, but there is a door to the outside from the shower so you can walk in from the pool and shower easily.

Our expansive private patio featured a sun deck, Tranquility Soaking Tub with privacy curtains, and sun loungers perfectly positioned to take in sunrise or sunset. One of my favorite memories was enjoying breakfast here every morning, with the ocean just steps away and no noise except the gentle lapping of the waves.
And of course, butler service took everything to the next level. Our butler greeted us with champagne on arrival, handled all our dining and activity reservations, delivered meals and snacks to our patio, and even surprised us with a romantic turndown and rose petal bath one evening.
Since it was a bit of a walk to the coffee shop, our butler would bring us coffee in the morning and iced coffee midday. When we wanted to stay in the room, they would bring us lunch and snacks as well, but we liked helping ourselves to the food trucks.
We also loved that there is a bulter pantry with a separate door into the bedroom. This way we could order food when we were about to freshen up for the day and they could leave us our orders without coming fully into the bungalow.
Awa Seaside Butler Bungalow Location
These suites are located directly on the beach, but this area of the beach is not swimmable. They are close to the main pool, and you can hear the music coming from that area most of the time. The rooms are close to pretty much everything, including a short walk to the lobby and most restaurants.

The food here is elevated and better than most Sandals Resorts. We loved the food trucks for lunch, the coffee shop each morning, and an iced latte during the day. For dinner, there are so many options, but my favorites are Zuka and Gatsu Gatsu.
Pools & Beach
The resort has several large pools, including the iconic Dos Awa Infinity Pool, a stunning two-level infinity pool overlooking the ocean, a quiet secluded pool and pools with swim-up suites.
The beach has clear, calm water perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. This is not the typical beach location since the beach that is swimmable is set on a river inlet with a floating dock creating the beach area.
Activities & Inclusions
At Sandals Royal Curacao, there are unlimited water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving for certified divers. On land there is tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball, and access to a scenic 18-hole golf course (at additional cost).
At the main pool there is entertainment throughout the day and each night you can expect themed entertainment.
