The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: A Fun-filled Bahamas Resort

Are you searching for a fun resort in The Bahamas? One of the most popular is Atlantis Bahamas. Located on beautiful Paradise Island (next to Nassau), it is a mega-resort with a huge array of activities that cater to every type of traveler–including an amazing onsite waterpark.

The Coral Tower at Atlantis attracts those who want convenience and proximity to the resort’s main attractions. With a fantastic pool area and easy access to Atlantis Beach, this tower offers lower-priced rooms than the rest of the resort.

To help you decide if this is the best resort for your getaway, here is a comprehensive overview, including what other guests are saying in their The Coral at Atlantis reviews.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Overview

Atlantis Bahamas is a huge resort located on Paradise Island. Split into 5 distinct areas, guests at Atlantis will have access to facilities across the resort, no matter which one they choose to stay at. Of course, entry will be restricted for adults-only areas like the casino.

If you’re traveling with children or teenagers, it’s a great family friendly choice. There are plenty of activities and entertainment aimed at a younger crowd. That said, choosing the right area of the resort to stay in is important. Since The Coral Tower is conveniently set near the beach and marina, it’s popular among families. It also offers lower prices than other accommodations at Atlantis.

Amenities at The Coral Atlantis include the Coral pool; Crush, a teen’s nightclub featuring a gaming area and an internet lounge; and Sun & Ice ice cream and gelato.

This can be a good place to stay not only for families, but for fun-seekers of all ages. With a 4-star rating on Google, The Coral Atlantis reviews are mostly positive. Guests especially like the convenient location and amazing pool. However, a number of reviews commented that the rooms were a little dated, and some people had maintenance issues like broken air conditioning or no water. Many people felt that prices here are way too high.

The resort in general is said to be very crowded. (Anyone can buy a day pass to the Atlantis facilities, and it is very popular with cruise ship passengers, so the resort can be very crowded at peak times.)

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Location

Situated on the beautiful white beaches of Paradise Island, just off of Nassau in The Bahamas, Atlantis Bahamas is a sprawling resort that provides everything you could need for a fun getaway–and then some. This includes multiple pools, an enormous water park, an aquarium, a golf course, a casino, tons of restaurants and bars, and more.

The Coral Tower at Atlantis is located near the front of the resort by a beach and the marina. As the resort is quite large, guests are able to access the various other areas of Atlantis (Harborside Resort, The Royal, The Cove, and The Reef) easily by foot or by shuttle in order to make the most of the great amenities, beautiful pools, delicious restaurants, and outstanding bars dotted around Atlantis.

The Coral at Atlantis is about 15 minutes from the airport, and Nassau is very close to the United States. Flights from Miami to Nassau take just 45 minutes.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Rooms & Suites

The Coral Tower at The Atlantis offers three styles of rooms to choose from: Coral Guest Rooms, Coral Premium Rooms, and Coral Suites.

The standard rooms are the Coral Guest Rooms. These offer a relaxed beach vibe, with each room featuring either a king-sized bed or two queen-sized beds and a full balcony with views of either the resort or the stunning blue waters surrounding it. These rooms can sleep up to three to four people, so are a great option for families with little ones.

Fancy an upgrade from this? The Coral Premium Rooms offer a little more space and a somewhat more upscale experience.

If traveling with a larger family or group, it may be worth splashing out to stay in one of The Coral’s suites. Sleeping four to eight guests, these suites are extra spacious. They offer both one and two-bedroom options, each with a living room and even better views from your private balcony.

However, a number of The Coral at Atlantis reviews commented that the rooms were dated, and some people had maintenance issues like broken air conditioning or no water. Others noted that while some rooms have wonderful ocean views, others have no views or views of parts of the resort that are under reconstruction.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Food & Drink

Atlantis boasts tons of restaurants and dining options, as well as a wide selection of bars. That said, the options available in The Coral area of the resort are a little limited, and it’s worth noting that the closest restaurants are located at the nearby Royal Towers.

Here are the food and beverage options at The Coral at Atlantis:

Starbucks

Open from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m., Starbucks at The Coral provides guests with classic coffee and tea drinks from this well-known international chain.

Sun & Ice

Located as the centerpiece of the lobby lounge at The Coral, Sun & Ice is an ice cream, gelato, and sorbet eatery, perfect for an ice-cold pick-me-up. Open from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., Sun & Ice is the perfect pit stop after a long day of relaxing by the pool, as a snack before you head out for fun, or for an after-dinner treat on your way back to bed.

Chop Stix

The only restaurant in The Coral Tower, Chop Stix serves up Asian fusion, where contemporary Chinese cuisine meets the Pacific Rim. This restaurant is open almost daily for dinner service between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Currently it is closed on Mondays.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Beach

Atlantis Bahamas boasts some breathtaking beaches, and guests have access to multiple beaches all across the resort.

The closest beach to The Coral is Atlantis Beach. It features designated swimming areas, lounge chairs, and beach-side service. Alternatively, head to the nearby Royal Beach for some action-packed fun, where you can also enjoy drinks and conch fritters on the patio at Pisces.

Another great action-packed beach is the Paradise Lagoon Beaches. Visit South Paradise Lagoon Beach for snorkeling, paddle boats, and other water sports, or go to North Paradise Lagoon Beach, which offers calm, blue waters in a protected cove with gradual beach entry that kids and adults alike will love to explore.

Cove Beach is a little further from The Coral but is a stunning spot to visit if you’re looking for a peaceful stroll along white sands with tranquil waters. Dolphin Cay Beach is another quiet and calm private beach, which overlooks dolphins swimming and playing in the waters just a few feet away!

Paradise Beach is reserved exclusively for guests of The Cove and The Reef.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Pools

Atlantis offers an amazing 14 pools to choose from during your stay, so if you’re the kind of vacationer who enjoys spending your trip lounging by the pool, no two days need to be the same!

The most convenient for those staying at The Coral is The Coral Pool, which features great family-friendly water activities and a swim-up bar where you can enjoy tropical cocktails.

Other pool options include The Grotto Pool. Featuring two beautiful, cascading waterfalls, it deepens gradually as if you were walking into the ocean. Just as breathtaking is the Baths Colonnade Pool, which features large columns with hieroglyphs and rockwork structures and contains almost 750,000 gallons of water.

Mayan Temple Pool is a great spot for both swimming and sunbathing, and The Royal Baths is an excellent spot to relax with gentle music and a serene and romantic backdrop. If you enjoy swimming for fitness purposes, the resort also offers a four-lane 25-meter lap pool near the fitness center.

Looking for a pool that’s both fun and child-friendly? Ripples Pool has mini waterslides and flowing water fountains, and Poseidon’s Playzone offers a water play fort with 40 different elements and an oversized 300-gallon water bucket. Harborside Pool is another great one for families, as it’s kitted out with both fun water structures and a jetted spa next to the pool.

While The Coral Atlantis reviews are positive about the variety of the pools, some guests were not pleased that the pools close early and that they are not heated, making it a little uncomfortable for those visiting during the colder months.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Activities and Entertainment

At The Coral Atlantis, the fun never stops. While there isn’t anything located in The Coral Tower itself, the Atlantis resort offers a huge range of activities and entertainment options. If you’re feeling active, there is a state-of-the-art fitness center, huge water park, tennis courts, and golf course.

For those looking for something a little more relaxed and laid back, there’s an on-site spa, marine life habitats, an aquarium, and a variety of leisure activities like movie theaters and a casino. If you want to explore the area, you can also book offsite tours and excursions.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: What’s Included?

It’s important to note that Atlantis Bahamas is not an all-inclusive resort.

Instead, it is a “full-service resort.” Guests have full access to the Atlantis water park, swimming areas, water slides, Lazy River Rides, Paradise Lagoon, The Dig, The Predator’s Lagoon, all marine life habitats, and the beach areas. However, there are extra costs involved in many activities.

What’s not included are the Mandara Spa, comedy club, business center, meals, and drinks. However, there are meal plans available to purchase at the resort. The Coral Atlantis reviews note that it can get very expensive if you choose to eat all meals at the onsite restaurants and drink a lot of alcohol at the on-site bars and lounges, so if you plan on that, an all-inclusive resort may be a better option.

The Coral at Atlantis Reviews: Conclusion

The Coral at Atlantis reviews from past guests tend to be a mix of positive and negative. On the positive side are the friendly staff, vibrant atmosphere, convenient location, and abundance of amenities available nearby.

However, many guests were unhappy due to the age of the tower, dated decor, and problems with their rooms, including broken items, maintenance problems, and noise issues. Quite a few felt that it was too expensive, and some were not pleased with the service they received.
