Atlantis Resort and Casino

The Cove Atlantis Overview

The Cove Atlantis is a gorgeous luxury resort located on a pristine white beach along the front of the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. This amazing property offers a tranquil ambiance, lush grounds with beautiful Caribbean views, and a range of amenities to enjoy, including an adults-only pool.

It’s important to note that while The Cove is not all-inclusive, you do get access to the rest of the Atlantis resort. With 21 restaurants, 19 bars and lounges, an exceptional waterpark, 11 pools, and even a casino and golfing green, there’s so much to see and do at Atlantis that you can feel like you’re having a different vacation every day.

With a Google rating of 4.3, the vast majority of The Cove Atlantis reviews give the resort 5 or 4 stars. Guests especially praise the spacious rooms and welcoming staff. However, some guests did not like the fact that there is no fridge or microwave in some of the rooms, making it difficult to store or heat up leftovers. Also, some Marriott rewards members said they didn’t receive the benefits they were entitled to, and were not happy with the service.

Rooms & Suites Review

The Cove Atlantis offers a range of 8 different types of suites, each thoughtfully designed to provide both comfort and luxury. While some The Cove Atlantis reviews found their room to be dated and in need of upgrades and some had maintenance issues, others were very pleased with their accommodations.

Ocean Suites

Ocean Suites come with either an ocean or partial ocean view. You can choose between a king bed or two queens. Each room comes with a sofa bed so it can sleep up to four people, making it a great choice for families.

These rooms are typically located on lower floors, but are spacious and offer a timeless mid-century design. They have large bathrooms and a step-down lounge area and balcony, perfect for relaxing and admiring the view.

Deluxe Ocean Suites

Deluxe Ocean Suites are very similar to the Ocean Suites, with the main differences being that they are typically located on higher views and boast full sea views.

Indigo Suites

Indigo Suites are similar to the Ocean and Deluxe Ocean Suites but they’re typically much larger and can sleep up to four adults and one child. There’s plenty of space to move around in these rooms, great ocean views, and both a French balcony and a full balcony with a comfortable seating area.

Lapis Club Ocean Suites

Lapis Club Ocean Suites are very similar to the Deluxe Ocean Suites but are located on higher floors and provide exclusive access to Lapis at The Cove (a club lounge) and all of its amenities.

Azure Suites

Azure Suites come with the option of either one or two-bedroom apartments, with the latter sleeping up to 7 adults and 1 child. Both come with a furnished balcony so you can relax and admire the ocean views.

Sapphire Suites

Sapphire Suites also offer both one-bedroom and two-bedroom family suite options, with the latter sleeping up to 5 adults and 1 child. These suites have all the great amenities the others have to offer but with a more modern and luxurious interior style.

Presidential Suites

Presidential Suites come with a completely elevated design, offering premium luxury and stunning views. Both one-bedroom and family suites are available, with the latter sleeping up to 5 adults and 1 child. The Presidential Suites offer both living and dining areas and furnished balconies.

Penthouse Suites

Penthouse Suites offer the most luxury. These apartments come with both two and three-bedroom options, with the latter sleeping up to 7 adults and 1 child. With spacious living and dining areas, multiple balconies, and a sleek design, you can enjoy incredible ocean views from some of the most premium accommodations this resort has to offer.

Dining Review

At Atlantis, there’s a huge selection of dining options, with more than 42 places to choose from whether you’re looking for an indulgent evening meal or just a light snack by the pool. Guests at The Cove Atlantis have access to all of these venues, but there are 5 that are located around both The Cove and The Reef.

The Cove Atlantis reviews note that onsite food and beverages are very pricey, with VAT and 15% automatic gratuity added to every bill, and some repeat guests thought that the food was not as good as it was.

Also, guests recommended that you make reservations in advance, as restaurants tend to get filled due to the number of people in the resort. They also found room service to be slow, and advised that not all restaurants are always open.

Starbucks at The Reef

Open from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m., Starbucks provides guests with all their coffee favorites in a casual and comfortable setting. You can find Starbucks venues not only at The Reef but also across the Atlantis Resort at The Coral, Marina Village, and near the waterpark.

Sea Glass

Open from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., Sea Glass is a modern lounge-style eatery located in the heart of The Cove. At this venue, you can enjoy light tapas, fruit-infused martinis, and signature cocktails, all in a sleek yet casual environment.

Frezca

Open from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., Frezca is conveniently located near The Cove’s pool. It serves light, healthy coastal cuisine inspired by both local ingredients and global influences and offers ocean views. These include island favorites like Bahamian conch salad or local grilled fish, as well as sushi, poke bowls, and salads.

Cascades Grill

Open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Cascades Grill is the perfect spot to enjoy gourmet burgers and grilled favorites. This exclusive venue is available only to guests of The Cove and The Reef.

Fish by Jose Andres

Open from 7 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., and again between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., Fish is an upscale experience with a down-to-earth and welcoming atmosphere. It’s a fantastic spot to enjoy a truly innovative meal in high-design surroundings.

Fish is actually the resort’s flagship seafood experience, so it’s one that shouldn’t be missed on a trip to Atlantis Resort. It’s the perfect choice for celebrations or romantic honeymoon dinners.

Beaches Review

The Atlantis boasts 5 miles of beautiful white sand beaches, and guests of The Cove have access to all of these areas.

One of the most popular options with guests is Atlantis Beach. Located near the Coral Tower, it’s a short walk away from The Cove and features designated swimming areas, lounge chairs, and beach-side service.

Royal Beach and Cove Beach are both great options if you’re looking for a tranquil and peaceful stroll, or simply somewhere to relax as the sun is setting on another amazing day in this little slice of paradise.

For guests of The Cove and The Reef, Paradise Beach is an exclusive area, unavailable to guests staying in other areas of the resort. This makes it a little less crowded than the other options.

Paradise Lagoon beaches are not to be missed on any trip to Atlantis. A seven-acre lagoon offers two beaches, and with all that’s on offer here, this makes for a perfect day of water play. South Paradise Lagoon Beach offers snorkeling, paddle boats, and other water sports, and North Paradise Lagoon Beach offers calm, blue waters in a protected cove with gradual beach entry that both kids and adults will love.

Many The Cove Atlantis reviews rave about the beauty of the beaches, though some guests said it was hard to get lounge chairs.

Pool Reviews

Atlantis features an amazing number of 14 unique pools to choose from. Guests at The Covel have access to all of them.

The adults-only Cove pool is the most convenient one for guests of The Cove. Here you can enjoy four multi-level pools, stylish daybeds, and even outdoor gaming, all for guests over the age of 18.

Another pool exclusive to guests of The Cove and The Reef is Cascades Pool. This zero-entry pool is family-friendly and offers exceptional ocean views and easy access to the white sands of the exclusive Paradise Beach.

The Baths Colonnade Pool is perfect for families staying at The Cove. Located by Cove Beach, large columns with hieroglyphs and gorgeous rockwork structures adorn this free-form pool which contains nearly 750,000 gallons of water and is surrounded by 2.5 acres of sun decks.

Other pools you can enjoy at Atlantis are The Grotto Pool with its stunning waterfalls; the spacious Mayan Temple Pool; the serene Royal Baths; the family-friendly fun-filled Coral Pool; Ripples Pool, which is perfect for children and boasts mini-waterslides and gorgeous water fountains; the four-lane Lap Pool; and fun Harbourside Pool.

Poseidon’s Playzone is one of the newest additions to the resort. This 9,000-square-foot water play fort with 40 water play elements and an oversized 300-gallon water bucket is the perfect spot for family fun.

While The Cove Atlantis reviews are positive about the variety of the pools, as well as being able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at the adults-only pool, some guests were not pleased that the pools close early and that they are not heated.

Activities and Entertainment Reviews

From thrilling water sports to interactive animal encounters to a wide range of shows and nightlife as well as kids’ programs, there’s something for everyone at Atlantis Resort. Guests of The Cove are welcome to join any of the activities at the resort.

Discover the largest open-air habitat of marine life in the world, boasting over 150 species at an amazing variety of exhibits, including coral formations, caves, and lagoons. You can even swim with tropical fish! Enjoy sea-life exhibits, a trip to the waterpark, or shopping at Marina Village. If you’re looking for some evening entertainment, check out some of the adult-only nightclubs or the casino.

Romance Packages

For couples seeking a romantic retreat, The Cove Atlantis provides a selection of romance packages. From candlelit dinners on the beach to couples’ spa treatments, these packages offer an exclusive and intimate experience for couples. The Cove Atlantis reviews note, however, that it’s tough to find privacy, so couples who prefer a lively atmosphere will be happier here.

Where is The Cove Atlantis Located?

Situated at the front of the Atlantis Bahamas resort, The Cove Atlantis is located on Paradise Island, a smaller island just offshore from the main island of New Providence. It’s easily accessible from Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, via a short water taxi ride or quick cab journey from the airport.

The resort’s prime location offers stunning ocean views and convenient access to the vibrant culture and attractions of Nassau.

The Cove Atlantis Reviews: What’s Included & What’s Not?

While The Cove Atlantis is a more exclusive area of the resort, Atlantis Bahamas is not an all-inclusive resort, nor is it an adults-only resort, unlike Sandals Resorts, Secrets Resorts, and Breathless Resorts.

Instead of being all-inclusive, Atlantis Bahamas is known as a “full-service resort.” Guests have full access to the Atlantis water park, swimming areas, water slides, Lazy River Rides, Paradise Lagoon, The Dig, The Predator’s Lagoon, all marine life habitats, beach towels, and the beach areas. However, there are extra costs involved in many activities.

Guests staying at The Cove and The Reef gain exclusive access to more private pools and beaches.

What’s not included are the Mandara Spa, comedy club, business center, meals, and drinks. However, there are meal plans available to purchase at the resort. The Cove Atlantis reviews note that it can get very expensive if you choose to eat all meals at the onsite restaurants and drink a lot of alcohol at the on-site bars and lounges, so if you plan on that, an all-inclusive resort may be a better option.

The Cove Atlantis Reviews: Conclusion

In conclusion, The Cove Atlantis is a section of The Atlantis Bahamas resort that many feel lives up to its reputation as a luxury destination. With spacious accommodations, beautiful beaches, and an adults-only area plus access to a thrilling water park and an exceptional array of activities, it offers an excellent experience for many.

However, some guests said in The Cove Atlantis reviews that they found the prices to be outrageously high, service to be hit or miss, and rooms to be dated. Others felt that the quality of the food was not as high as it used to be.

Also, the overall resort can get crowded, so many The Cove Atlantis reviews recommend going to Atlantis when school is in season for fewer other guests. The worst time to visit Atlantis is said to be during spring break, so if you’re looking for a peaceful honeymoon be sure to avoid that time.
