The fact that this is an upscale travel destination is evidenced by the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, a fabulously deluxe resort that delivers luxe amenities like a 60-foot luxury yacht that guests can charter for private tours and special events. There is also a private beach on the aptly named Turquoise Bay, three swimming pools (one with a waterslide), motorized and non-motorized watersports, and tennis courts. 

All-inclusive options aren’t offered, but club-level rooms have free dining options throughout the day. Non-members can reserve a rate that includes breakfast. There are four delicious gourmet restaurants onsite to choose from.

The Westin Beach Resort & Spa

A new addition to Frenchman’s Reef is The Westin Beach Resort & Spa, which opened its doors in the summer of 2023. With beautiful ocean views and a convenient location only 5 miles from the airport, this St. Thomas resort promises to be a popular spot for couples, friends, singles and families. They even welcome pets! 

Luxury amenities include The Heavenly Spa by Westin, five gourmet restaurants and lounges, a sparkling outdoor pool, beachfront access, and cozy rooms and suites with outstanding views. Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove

Another upscale St. Thomas resort is Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove at Pacquereau Bay. Point Pleasant Resort

Point Pleasant Resort opened in 1971. The 15-acre property is built on a hillside overlooking Water Bay amidst volcanic rock and surrounded by a thick forest filled with hiking trails. Point Pleasant is a great choice if you want to spend your days on the water. Nearby at Coral World Ocean Park, visitors can enjoy swimming with dolphins and sea lions and learning about coral reefs, and there are also plenty of activities available for children. Seas the Day Charters collaborates closely with the resort and provides services such as boat rentals, off-site tours, snorkeling, and scuba diving trips. Guests can also explore the bay through kayak tours offered by the Mermaids Den.

Emerald Beach Resort

For a quiet St. Thomas resort, choose Emerald Beach Resort. Each room comes with an oceanfront view of Lindbergh Bay and either two double beds or one king-sized bed. Conveniently located near the St. Thomas airport and the capital city of Charlotte Amalie, you can enjoy both the privacy of the resort and the lively atmosphere of St. Thomas. Secret Harbour Beach Resort

Located on the eastern side of the island, Secret Harbour Beach Resort is an all-inclusive At. Thomas resort with 48 beachfront rooms and 20 apartments nestled into a hillside. It boasts a 5-star PADI diving facility for guests to enjoy. All rooms come fully equipped with kitchens, and there is an online grocery shopping and delivery service included in the rate. The Mafolie Hotel

The Malfolie Hotel is in a great central location for anyone visiting St. Thomas for the first time. The hotel is conveniently near shops, restaurants, and a few of Charlotte Amalie’s most popular beaches. Unfortunately, there is no direct beach access, but there is a refreshing swimming pool. 

They offer affordable rates, but not all-inclusive packages. However, you will get a  complimentary breakfast during your stay, and the Mafolie Restaurant gets rave reviews.

Limetree Beach Resort by Club Wyndham

Limetree Beach Resort provides condo-style accommodations on 24 acres of land for visitors to St. Thomas who prefer a more simple experience without all the bells and whistles of an all-inclusive resort. Bolongo Bay Beach Resort 

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort has been a staple all-inclusive family St. Thomas resort since its doors opened in 1989. After Hurricane Irma in 2017 the hotel underwent a major renovation, and the 65 guest rooms have a fresh new look with a wood, wicker, and cream color palette.  

During the day, guests can enjoy free watersports like a complimentary diving class, snorkeling with tropical fish in the Caribbean, or enjoying the use of paddleboards, kayaks, and windsurfing boards. For an extra charge, the resort’s 53-foot catamaran Heavenly Days can take you to explore places like Turtle Cove, Bucks Island, and St. John National Park. After sunset, head to the beach to enjoy live music and refreshing tropical drinks. 

Flamboyan on the Bay 

Previously named Magens Point, Flamboyan on the Bay is another good choice for an affordable St. Thomas resort. Rooms and suites have large balconies where you can admire the scenery of Magens Bay and a small kitchenette. The grounds are perfectly manicured with tropical flowers in full bloom year-round. There is also a cat sanctuary onsite, which guests can visit, and if you find one you want to take home, the resort’s proprietor can help make the arrangements.
