Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana Reviews

The Dominican Republic is a favorite destination among sun-chasers because of its affordability, easy access from the U.S., and incredible beaches. Maybe that’s why Dreams Resorts has a total of 6 luxury properties on the island, 3 of which are near the capital of Punta Cana

In this article we will tell you all about Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana, including what other guests have to say, so you can decide if it’s the perfect resort for your Punta Cana honeymoon or romantic getaway.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana Reviews: Overview

Dreams Royal Beach is located in a populated area of Punta Cana near other resorts, specifically its sister property Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana, an adults-only all-inclusive. Dreams resorts are made to accommodate families, but child-free couples are not uncommon, and the resort offers plenty of ways for lovers to rekindle their romance or celebrate their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic

Most Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana reviews are 4 and 5 stars, with guests praising the service, property, nature, and cleanliness. Many also find it to be extremely family friendly.

As it is a family resort on a busy strip it can be a bit loud during the day, but most nightly entertainment ends at a decent hour so it’s possible to get some sleep. Some Dreams Royal Beach reviews say they prefer the nightlife at Secrets but stay at Dreams so they aren’t kept awake all night by loud, thumping dance music.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana Reviews: Rooms & Suites

Dreams Royal Beach has 373 bright, airy rooms and suites with large, furnished balconies or terraces complete with a hot tub. Many have gorgeous ocean views. A fully stocked minibar that’s refreshed daily, fast Wifi and 24-hour concierge service are part of the Dreams signature Unlimited Luxury all-inclusive package. Decor is tropical with wicker chairs, wooden shutters, and room dividers with pops of vibrant purple set against a canvas of crisp white.

The Junior Suite comes with either one king bed or two double beds and overlooks either the pool, hot tub, or garden. Larger rooms for families can accommodate up to 6 guests. Upgrade your reservation to Preferred Club status for a larger suite with high-quality amenities in an even nicer area of the resort, plus butler service. Some Preferred Club suites also have swim-up entrances and oceanfront access.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana reviews praised the spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms, as well as the luxurious amenities and comfort.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana Reviews: Food & Drinks

Guests of Dreams Royal Beach have 8 restaurants and snack shacks right at their fingertips. For small bites, Coco Cafe serves coffee, snacks, and pastries 24 hours a day. Just a few steps away there’s an ice cream bar called Sundaez that’s open noon til late. There’s also Tides, a burger bar right on the edge of the beach.

A la carte dinner options are Fusion, an Asian fusion restaurant; Oceana for fresh seafood; Portofino for fine Italian cuisine; and the Seaside Grill, which has a lovely open-air dining area that overlooks the ocean. The Seaside Grill is open to all guests for dinner, and Preferred Club guests can also dine for breakfast and lunch. If you like variety, the World Cafe sets out a sprawling international buffet 3 times per day.

Many guests found the food to be very good and the service in the restaurants to be outstanding.

There are plenty of spots to grab a drink, and Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana reviews say poolside and beach service is top-tier. The swim-up bar, Sea Legs, has a dry side called The Grotto that faces the beach so you can enjoy a cocktail with your toes in the sand. A little further down the beach, there’s another beach bar called Hideaway. A second swim-up bar called Blue Dorado is in the hotel’s newest pool.

After the sun sets there’s an open-air bar where you can grab a late-afternoon cocktail behind Coco’s called Aperitifs, or you could head indoors to play some pool at Halftime Bar. After dinner, head to Veranda for a nightcap and the sea breeze or to Interlude in the main plaza.

For music and dancing, guests of Dreams can go next door to the open-air disco at Secrets Royal Beach, Eclipse Night Bar. Teens can hang out at The Core Zone Teens Bar, a nightclub-themed hangout with refreshments served in fancy cups with garnishes, arcade games, and pool tables.

The Preferred Club Lounge is on the roof of a building near the front of the resort, just behind the Main Plaza. It has a thatched roof for shade but it’s nice and breezy. Refreshments are set out for guests to enjoy and drinks are served.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana Reviews: Beaches

Dreams Royal Beach is on the northeastern side of the Dominican Republic, which is known for having some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, and many Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana reviews concur, calling the beach beautiful. Guests also appreciated the shaded huts with loungers that were available.

The sea on this side of the island is known to be a bit rougher than on the Caribbean side, but it’s safe to swim in and provides excellent conditions for watersports like snorkeling, sea kayaking, and wind and kitesurfing. Equipment for non-motorized watersports can be borrowed from the watersports shack on the beach free of charge.

Apart from the water being somewhat rough, the private beach at Dreams Royal Beach is breathtakingly beautiful, the perfect place for a romantic sunset stroll. However, since it’s shared with Secrets Royal Beach next door it can get somewhat crowded.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana Reviews: Pools

Dreams Punta Cana has three sparkling swimming pools. The main pool snakes its way around a man-made concrete island, where you can find comfy beach loungers to soak up the sun. One section of the main pool is reserved for Preferred Club members, but it’s only an arm of the main pool and there is no real barrier between the Main Pool and Preferred Club pool.

Directly in front of the Main Plaza, there is a second, newer pool with a lovely blue tile bottom and a swim-up bar and poolside seating. Between the main pool and the new pool, there’s also a shallow splash pool for kids.

Multiple Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana reviews say the pools are extremely clean and well maintained.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana Reviews: Activities

The resort is just a short distance from the capital city of Punta Cana, where there is lots to do. Day tours to the capital and other nearby attractions like Monkey Land, deep-sea fishing tours, Saona Island or Marinarium can be arranged through the 24-hour concierge.

On-site, guests can borrow watersport equipment, hit the gym, take an intro scuba diving class (dive excursions can also be arranged for an added cost), or play a game of tennis or basketball on a full-size court. If you’re traveling with kids, the Explorer’s Club has daily entertainment and activities for kids of all ages, even teenagers at the Core Zone.

Guests of Dream Royal Beach who want to take advantage of the excellent golfing in the Dominican Republic get discounted green fees at the Cocotal Golf & Country Club.

Live musical performances, parties, theme nights, live theater shows, and dance and Spanish classes are all part of Dreams Resorts’ daily and nightly lineup of entertainment. As a family resort, the evening entertainment wraps up pretty early, but adults can walk right next door to the nightclub at Secrets Royal Beach.
