Known for a beautiful property and top-of-the-line service, Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya is a 4-star all-inclusive resort on a quiet bay in Quintana Roo. Despite being family-friendly all-inclusive resorts, Dreams Resorts have a host of amenities that make them a great choice for a Mexican honeymoon

Read on to learn all about Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya and what the reviews say so you can decide whether this is the best resort for you.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Overview

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya is an all-inclusive resort with luxury amenities, gourmet dining, and a private beach on the Riviera Maya. They offer everything you need for a fun all-inclusive getaway to Mexico, including superb service. In fact, most Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews praise the friendly, attentive, and helpful staff.

Much of the clientele consists of families, but child-free couples and retirees are common visitors as well. Guest reviews state that there are plenty of quiet spots throughout the resort where couples can relax.

Despite the resort’s smaller size, it manages to not feel overly crowded. There are plenty of loungers for guests to relax, either poolside or on the beach, and lots of open space. Rooms are modern and comfortable and offer a great view no matter which direction you’re facing.

Meals are prepared by world-class chefs and dining options offer cuisines from all around the world. The bars deliver a wide selection of premium spirits, beer, and wine that is included in the cost of your stay. However, some recent Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews say that not all the dining options are open all the time, and guests who don’t upgrade to the Preferred Club have limited choices. They also note that drink selection can be limited.

Fun activities are offered every day from morning to night, and an on-site luxury spa delivers pampering treatments.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Rooms & Suites

This resort features 305 rooms and suites that come with a fully stocked minibar that’s refreshed every day and a private, furnished outdoor seating area. Deluxe suites have either two double beds or one king-size bed, and you can choose from garden, pool, ocean, or marina views. Many Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews praise the comfortable beds and note how clean the rooms are.

The marina view suites provide the best viewpoint for watching a Caribbean sunset, which also means you won’t have the sun pouring into your room early in the morning. Family rooms come with two double beds and a small living room. Only ocean or pool views are available for family suites.

Upgrades to the Preferred Club get you into larger rooms on higher floors. Extra amenities with the Preferred Club upgrade include a private hot tub on your terrace, rooms with swim-up entrances on ground-floor suites, a premium mini-bar selection, high-end bath products, and a pillow menu.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Food & Drinks

Choose from 9 dining options and enjoy unlimited drinks in 4 bars, including a swim-up bar in each pool. Sugar Reef is located in the main pool and Manatees is in the Preferred area for upgraded guests. Down by the beach, you’ll find Barracuda, a beach bar where you can get a fresh cocktail made with premium spirits and tropical fruit juice. For an after-dinner drink, guests can head to Desires, which is part music lounge and part sports bar with a large terrace and big-screen TVs.

A varied breakfast buffet is served at World Cafe between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., then the buffet reopens for lunch between 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The World Cafe is the only breakfast option unless you upgrade to the Preferred Club. If you upgrade, you can order breakfast and lunch a la carte from Oceana. Lunch and light snacks are available for all guests from the Barefoot Grill, which is located near the beach, or Coco Cafe and Gelato Shop, which is open from 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

The Seaside Grill serves steaks and small bites for dinner. Other more formal options are Portofino, which serves Italian cuisine; Oceana, a seafood restaurant; Gohan for sushi; or El Patio, an authentic Mexican restaurant.

As noted in the overview, however, some Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews state that not all the restaurants are open all the time, and guests may have limited choices if they don’t upgrade to the Preferred Club. They also may experience long wait times. While many reviews praise the food quality, some found it disappointing.

In addition to these options, from now until December 22, 2023, guests of Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya can take part in the Sip, Savor & See Dining Experience and head to another Dreams Resort to enjoy a delicious dinner and a live show at no additional cost.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Beach

The resort is built on a quiet bay and has a private beach just for guests, which can be accessed from various points throughout the resort. Sun loungers and umbrellas have been set up along the beach and wait staff will come around periodically for guests to order drinks and snacks.

The Barracuda Bar and El Patio are both located on the beach, and the resort map marks several “romantic spots” that make for a great photo op. A wedding gazebo has been built on a jetty that extends into the turquoise Caribbean Sea.

On the northern side of the beach is the watersports equipment rental shack where guests can borrow SUPs, kayaks, snorkel gear, and more.

However, be aware that the entire region experiences blooms of sargassum from time to time, so swimming is not always guaranteed. The beach has a rock wall built out into the ocean to prevent seaweed from washing up, and when it does the staff does their best to clean it. The rock wall also makes the water calmer, with no waves. Some Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews say that the water can be brown and the shoreline is unpleasant, with more rocks than sand. Many are disappointed in the beach’s small size and lack of white sand.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Pools

There are two pools at Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya. The main pool is surrounded by beach loungers and umbrellas in the center of the resort grounds. Sometimes scuba lessons are held in the main pool.

The swim-up bar is off to one side and faces the beach, and a large hot tub is just a few steps away. The Preferred Club pool is further back beyond the accommodations building and is flanked by hot tubs.

While some Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews were disappointed that there weren’t more pools, and some found the main pool to be small, many noted that they were clean and well maintained.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Activities

There are fun activities taking place every day and night at Dreams. Non-motorized watersports equipment can be borrowed for free from a small shack that’s easy to find along the beach. Guests curious about scuba diving can take a free intro lesson in the main pool, and experienced divers can book an excursion through the concierge (although scuba tours cost extra).

Deep sea fishing is another popular Dreams excursion, and avid golfers will love the Dreams discounts offered on green fees to Riviera Maya Golf Club, Gran Coyote Golf Riviera Maya, and El Camaleón Mayakoba Golf Course.

Scheduled resort activities include fitness, cooking, and Spanish classes. A full menu of relaxing treatments is available at the spa, which gets very good reviews, and the renovated gym has a large assortment of machines and free weights.

If you’re traveling with kids, fun and immersive experiences are planned for them at the Explorer’s Club. In the evening, you can take in a live show or musical performance.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Romance Packages

Dreams Resorts have a number of packages available for couples. Whether you’re celebrating a lifetime together or a newly made commitment, Dreams has a package that you and your special someone will never forget.

Elopement, anniversary, and honeymoon packages vary by offering and by cost. All are curated with romance in mind, especially the elopement package, which includes a photo album, a romantic candlelit dinner on the beach, and a couples’ massage.

If you want to have your destination wedding in Riviera Maya, Dreams has several packages to choose from. Most include preparations for your special day like hair and makeup, dry-cleaning and pressing, and a photography bundle. Some offer freebies like a welcome cocktail party or rehearsal dinner or even a free night for a wedding guest or a free salon appointment for a member of the wedding party. The destination wedding and honeymoon packages have perks like free nights and breakfast in bed with mimosas.

While some Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews caution that the beach is not scenic, so couples should avoid having wedding ceremonies there, others rave about the service they received for their destination wedding.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Inclusions

As a World of Hyatt resort, Dreams offers its signature Unlimited Luxury all-inclusive packages automatically with every reservation. Your rate will cover the cost of your room, minibar refreshed daily, unlimited gourmet dining and drinks (including premium spirits), and WiFi. Guests of one Dreams resort can also take advantage of the amenities and restaurants in other Dreams resorts if they are located nearby.

Use of most of the resort’s facilities like the gym, watersports equipment, and sports courts is included as well, as is admission to live shows. With select packages, you’ll also enjoy discounts on spa or salon services.

Preferred Club upgrades get you all the standard inclusions but with upgraded amenities like luxury bath products and premium minibar contents, plus access to better rooms plus exclusive areas and restaurants reserved just for Preferred Club members. Several Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews highly recommend upgrading to Preferred status to have the best experience here.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya Reviews: Location

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya is built on a quiet beach, but popular spots and tourist attractions are close enough that day trips are possible. The Mayan ruins in Tulum are less than an hour away, and Cancun is less than two hours away.

The Cancun Airport is 15 miles away. The resort does not have its own airport shuttle but has partnered with a local airport transfer company and can arrange your ride for you. Alternatively, you can book your own transfer or catch a cab from the airport. Some Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews state that it can take up to an hour and a half to get from the airport to the resort.

If you decide to rent a car, the resort has a parking lot, but it is easy to get around using taxis and Uber. Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya reviews also state that the resort feels very safe since it’s in a gated area.
