While we were hosted by the Kimpton Muse Hotel, these opinions are our own.
Looking for a hotel when you go on a trip to New York City can be overwhelming! There are so many options in all areas of town for almost every price point.
Midtown was on top of our list for where we wanted to stay, to put us within walking distance of many famous attractions and just a few subway stops or a quick Uber ride away from all the other main attractions in NYC. So we found the Kimpton Muse Hotel as a perfect option, right in the middle of it all.
We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and sipped on hot chocolate from the lobby while we were quickly checked in.

We were greeted with fruit, cheese, chocolate-covered strawberries and champaign on arrival, which we recommend ordering to start your stay off right during a romantic trip.

Recent Renovation
We happened to visit the hotel just after a major renovation was completed. The lobby area, Muse Bar and fitness center were all renovated. The lobby is open with ample seating areas to allow guests to rest their feet or gather before coming or going.

The Muse Bar offers food and specialty cocktails like the War of the Roses, Knickerbocker Cocktail, and Pornstar Martini, perfect for a drink before heading out to a broadway show.

For working out, the new fitness center features two Peloton bikes, a punching bag, and all the other equipment you would expect like treadmills and free weights, in addition to elliptical cross-trainers that have individual LCD TV screens.

The Location
One of the main benefits of the stay at the Muse Hotel is its location. It is literally a few yards away from Time Square and an easy walking distance to many other sites like Rockefeller Center, all the Broadway theaters, Radio City Music Hall, the iconic stores on 5th Avenue, The Museum of Modern Art and so many other attractions.
If you are looking to get anywhere else in Manhattan, subway stations are very close by or a quick Uber ride can get you anywhere.

Additionally, all of the hop on hop off buses that start tours around Manhattan have stops in Times Square where you can hop on. We used The Sightseeing Pass that included a hop on hop off bus and were able to hop on near the hotel taking a full loop around Manhattan.
The Rooms

During our stay at the Kimpton Muse Hotel, we stayed in a king room on a high floor. The room is a great size for a hotel in New York City. When entering, there is a sitting area with the TV, bar, and fridge. The couch in this area has a sleeper bed and is separated from the other room with a wall and barn door.

The bedroom has a bed, end tables, and another TV. The bathroom is simple and nice with a shower.

Other suites available have balconies and large soaking vintage soaking tubs.
The FOOD
As mention above, next to the lobby is the Muse bar. This also serves as a full-service restaurant, including breakfast. A daily breakfast buffet includes pastries, seasonal fruit, cereals, fruit juices coffee and hot tea. The buffet is currently $17 with an additional $8 charge for the daily egg dish, meats, and breakfast potatoes.

For lunch or dinner, the bar offers full service with appetizers like a hummus platter and parmesan truffle fries, and main courses like the muse burger or the grilled skirt steak.

Beyond meal, there is always coffee, water, tea and hot chocolate available in the lobby. At 5 pm there is complimentary wine available.
Overall Impressions
I have always enjoyed Kimpton hotels and this hotel is no different. The design and decor make the Kimpton Muse Hotel feel a bit more unique than your typical hotel, and the service is great with a front desk staff willing to help whenever you are in need.
The location is a big winner, making this hotel perfect for almost any occasion. For a date night you will not have to worry about transportation, you can easily walk to dinner and see a show on Broadway before making the short trip back to the hotel.
