One of the closest Caribbean destinations to the U.S., The Bahamas features beautiful beaches and crystal clear water just an hour from Florida. There are two Sandals resorts in The Bahamas: Sandals Royal Bahamian and Sandals Emerald Bay.
Sandals Royal Bahamian is located on the famous Cable Beach in Nassau, on the main island in the Bahamas. Recently renovated, this glamorous resort now offers beachfront swim-up suites with butler service, 2 huge pools and 6 whirlpools, 10 restaurants, and 8 bars.
A unique offering at Sandals Royal Bahamian is the private offshore island with a beach, pool, Jacuzzi, restaurant, and cabanas. It also offers a vibrant atmosphere with lots to do and a compact layout that is easy to get around.
There is a lot to do in The Bahamas, so you’ll have plenty of options for excursions when you feel like leaving the resort. Sandals Royal Bahamian excursions are all managed by Island Routes, but you book and pay through Sandals.
Sandals Royal Bahamian excursions include swimming with pigs, sightseeing in Nassau, catamaran cruises, beach hopping, ATV tours, rum tasting, and more. This Sandals Royal Bahamian excursion takes you on a guided sightseeing tour of Nassau. Start at Arawak Cay, then go on to Paradise Island and the huge Atlantis Resort. Next head to the Water Tower, built in the early 1900s, and past historic spots like the Parliament building and Governor’s residence, as well as along Meeting Street.
Reggae Catamaran Cruise and Nassau Beach Break
Enjoy this catamaran cruise past interesting sights in Nassau harbor to a top snorkeling spot, where you will get to see all sorts of marine life at a vibrant reef. Head off on an ATV for this guided tour of some of the island’s top spots. First you drive through downtown Nassau then stop at The Caves, where you’ll learn about its history. Bond movie fans will enjoy the next stop, at Jaws Beach which was in the first movie. You’ll hang here for a bit to relax or swim, then head on to Clifton Heritage Park and then Sapodilla for some delicious local cuisine.
Bites of Nassau Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour
Learn about local history and culture as you walk around the historic downtown of Nassau from tasty stop to tasty stop. Sample authentic Bahamian cuisine from award-winning chefs as well as local jams, salts, hand-made truffles, and island “bush” teas.

You’ll find complimentary watersports such as kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding, sailing, water trikes, and Hobie Cats, as well as snorkeling and scuba diving (with complimentary instruction for everything except scuba).
The snorkeling is great here, whether off the beach at the resort or on the private island. You can enjoy multiple pools and whirlpools, plus two beautiful beaches and the Coconut Grove lounge area.
Land activities include day and night tennis, pool tables, croquet, basketball, lawn chess, shuffleboard, table tennis, and beach volleyball. There’s also a full fitness center onsite, which is located in a penthouse to give you amazing views as you work out! You can also choose to indulge in optional services at the Red Lane Spa.
Daily and nightly entertainment includes theme nights, talent nights, beach parties, and live music.
Plus, Sandals Royal Bahamian offers the exclusive offshore island of Barefoot Cay, which is just minutes from the resort via the Love Runner. It features a Beach Club with a pool, whirlpool, and swim-up bar; two secluded beaches great for relaxing, swimming, or snorkeling; an open-air seafood restaurant; and plenty of romantic spots to lounge like hammocks, cabanas, and a fire pit.
