No trip to the Gulf Coast of Texas would be complete without a visit to beautiful Corpus Christi. This little corner of The Lone Star State is simply packed full of things to see and do for the whole family.

If you are going to Corpus Christi, you can take full advantage of the water by staying on the coast.  You’ll find the Gulfstream Condos on North Padre Island across the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway. The condominium hotel is located right on the beach and has condos with up to 3 bedrooms.

When To Visit

Corpus Christi has warm or hot weather almost all year round.  Shoulder seasons provide a great climate that isn’t extremely hot outside.  If you go during the summer, plan on spending time in the water to escape the heat.

Spend a Day at the Beach

The city of Corpus Christi and its surrounding beaches are a haven for surfers and swimmers alike. The warm waters and soft sand offer the perfect backdrop for all things beachy. Nearby you will find North Padre Island and Port Aransas beaches.

South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center

For a closer look at the flora and fauna that are native to the Corpus Christi area, visitors can spend some time at the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center. This non-profit organization offers 180 acres of lush gardens and stunning nature preserves.

Hurricane Alley Waterpark

Travelers who enjoy spending time in the water will fall in love with Hurricane Alley Waterpark. Visitors seeking relaxation can opt for the lazy river or wave pool, while the more adventurous members of the group spend time on the waterpark’s many slides and thrill rides.

USS Lexington

History buffs are sure to enjoy an afternoon aboard the USS Lexington. This aircraft-carrier, nicknamed “The Blue Ghost,” was constructed during World War II and saw extensive service throughout the Pacific War. Since 1992 this impressive ship has been docked in Corpus Christi, where it now serves as a museum.

Selena Memorial Statue

Downtown Corpus Christi is home to the Selena Memorial Statue. It is at this life-sized bronze sculpture by the ocean that fans of the fallen Tejano singer can pay homage to their favorite artist.

The Art Museum of South Texas

Enjoy a taste of Texan culture on a visit to The Art Museum of South Texas. This permanent showcase is located in Bayfront Science Park and is home to an abundance of regional fine art and photography.

Texas State Aquarium

Cole Park

Pass the day by the bay at Corpus Christi’s beautiful Cole Park. Featuring a playground, well-lit fishing pier, and a skate park, this outdoor space has a little something for the whole family.

Packery Channel Park

For nature lovers, Packery Channel Park is something of an oasis. This park offers an abundance of boardwalks and is perfect for bird watching, kayaking, and fishing.
