Transportation Cost

Airfares peak between April and June, and in December and January. You can pay around $800 if you choose to start your trip to Fiji at the beginning of April but, if you want to be in Fiji during the high-season, you should be ready to pay even more.

July, for instance, is usually the most expensive month, with flights costing over $1000. But, if your dates are flexible and you don’t mind searching and booking in advance, you can help keep costs down.

Travelers who visit Fiji usually arrive at Nadi International Airport (NAN), the principal international airport of Fiji, and a key regional hub for the South Pacific islands, situated by the coast on the western side of the main island Viti Levu, 9km north of central Nadi. If you are flying from the U.S. and you are looking for a direct flight, you can look for tickets from Los Angeles. The flight is about 10 hours long.

Accommodation Cost

There is a large variety of accommodations in Fiji at various price points. For budget travelers, you can book a hostel or private rooms at Airbnb with cost starting around $20 a night. For a three-star hotel on the beach, you can expect to pay around $150-$300. The cost goes up from there when considering luxury going up to $1000 per night. You can even stay in a liveaboard boat, diving around Fiji at different Islands. Below are some different resorts and hotels with a variety of price points to give you an idea.

Food Cost in Fiji

Meal prices in Fiji can vary, depending on the area and restaurants you choose, but, based on the spending habits of previous travelers, the average cost of food in Fiji can be about about $30 per day.

An average meal can be around $13, with breakfast prices usually cheaper than lunch and dinner. Also, as you can imagine, fast food and street food prices are lower than the cost of food to sit down restaurants. Also, meals are surprisingly affordable in many of the cafes and small restaurants available throughout Fiji.

The Cost of Local Transportation

Regarding transportation, the best way to get around Fiji is by bus. Pubic transportation can cost you around $8 per day, and the cost of taxi rides in Fiji can be significantly higher.

But, if you want more than to explore one island, you must travel by ferry and island-hop. If you don’t have a budget to respect, you can even get to other islands by plane.

When it comes to exploring Fiji, you can do this on your own, but keep in mind that it’s easier to access the major tourist attractions if you join one of the tours available. Renting a car is also a great idea, especially if you want to get off the beaten track. To hire a car, you need to be at least 21 years old.

What people say about us

We worked with Mike to plan our perfect honeymoon in Greece — he was amazing the whole way through and put together a trip we will cherish for our lifetime.

He was thoughtful with our suggestions, and provided some of his own without every pushing us. He stayed within our budgetary means but made it feel like we had a budget twice the size.

Dan and Michelle were such a joy to work with! They really made our trip and cruise successful. Based on our needs they were able to help us identify and schedule what side trips and activities would best suit our interests.

After this trip I will be using a travel agent for future vacations…just can’t wait for the next one they help us plan!

Honeymoon Always has been fantastic- our trips were 1000% better because of their help. The first time we used them we wanted to have a fun trip with some cultural experiences, good food, not too packed, and for a good price. It was fantastic and now we've used them for several trips in Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean. Each trip was so different but they were able to make each one special and unique to our needs.
