If you are planning to travel to Jamaica, you may have heard of Club Mobay, but you may not know what it is or what it includes. This article will give you an overview of Club Mobay including what Club Mobay is, what Club Mobay offers, how much Club Mobay costs, and whether Club Mobay is worth it.
We recommend using Viator to book Club Mobay, which you can do here.
What is Club Mobay Jamaica?
Club Mobay is an airport concierge service in Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. What does Club Mobay include? Read on and we will tell you all you need to know!
What is included with Club Mobay?
Club Mobay helps you enjoy your trip to Jamaica from the moment you step off the plane, with a personalized meet and greet. This continues with fast track service through immigration and customs plus an arrival VIP lounge that offers free snacks and cocktails. (There is a similar service in Jamaica’s Kingston Airport called Club Kingston if that is where you are flying into.)
When you’re departing, Club Mobay gives you fast-track service through security, a departure VIP lounge where you can relax in comfort until your flight, and an escort to your gate when your flight is ready to depart.
Club Mobay provides extra care for seniors and children who are traveling alone, as well.
How does the Club Mobay Meet and Greet Service Work?
As soon as you enter Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport, just moments after stepping off the plane, a VIP representative will be standing at the Club Mobay Meeting Point with a sign with your name on it. They will escort you to the immigration line, which you will be expedited through, then help you claim your bags.
Next, they will take you to the arrival VIP lounge. The Club Mobay VIP Lounge offers a variety of luxurious amenities (see below), and you can wait there in comfort for either your connecting flight or transportation to your hotel in Jamaica. If you are staying in Jamaica, you’ll be guided to the pick-up area once your transportation arrives.
When you depart Jamaica, Club Mobay will help you get through security quickly. Then you can enjoy all the amenities of the departure Club Mobay VIP lounge until it’s time for your flight to board. Then you’ll be escorted to the correct gate quickly and easily. (FYI, checking in for your flight is not fast-tracked; the Club Mobay Fast Track Service doesn’t begin until you’ve checked in.)
What does the Club Mobay VIP Lounge offer?
The Club Mobay VIP Lounge offers a range of amenities including comfortable seating, newspapers, and magazines to read, a business center, and complimentary calls to the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. There are private restrooms, shower facilities, and an adults-only lounge area. There’s even a spa (although services are an extra cost).
While you’re hanging out at the lounge, you can enjoy complimentary non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, snacks, fruit, sandwiches, and more. If you have children, they will have fun in the separate playroom. If you’re departing, there are monitors to show the status of your flight.
Club Mobay is accessible to those with disabilities. The Club Mobay Arrival Lounge is open Monday to Sunday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Club Mobay Departure Lounge is open Monday to Sunday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
If you are staying at a Sandals resort in Jamaica, you may wonder, what is the difference between the Sandals airport lounge and the Club Mobay lounge? Booking Club Mobay also provides you with fast track and escort services; if you choose to do this you will be able to access both the Sandals lounge and the Club Mobay lounge. Depending on how busy the airport is when you are there, the Club Mobay lounge may be less crowded.
What is the cost of Club Mobay in Jamaica?
For the Club Mobay VIP meet and greet service, you will pay $50 per adult and $25 per child aged 2-12; children under 2 are free.
For the Club Mobay VIP departure service, you will pay $30 per adult and $20 per child aged 2-12; children under 2 are free.
You can bundle both services and pay only $80 per adult and $40 per child aged 2-12.
Do you tip Club Mobay staff? Tipping Club Mobay personnel, such as the person who escorts you or your server in the VIP lounge, is allowed and appreciated.
How do you book Club Mobay in Jamaica?
It’s easy to book the VIP services of Jamaica’s Club Mobay. You simply call the Island Routes Sales & Service Center at 1-877-768-8370. Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive an email confirmation that contains a Club Mobay voucher. Print that out and bring it to the airport.
You can book Club Mobay VIP services as soon as you get your flight confirmation. Be sure to book it at least 48 hours ahead of your travel to Jamaica.
Is Club Mobay worth it?
Yes, it does add to the cost of your trip to Jamaica if you book the Club Mobay VIP experience. However, consider what you get in return. Bypassing long lines at immigration when you arrive helps you start your Jamaican vacation more quickly, which can be invaluable—especially after a long flight.
Having a personal escort through the airport and to baggage claim (or to your gate when you’re departing) helps make sure you don’t get lost. Since Sangster is Jamaica’s busiest airport, it can be hectic. Club Mobay helps travelers navigate it faster and more easily than they could on their own. This is especially valuable for first-time visitors to Jamaica or people who travel to Jamaica regularly.
The Club Mobay VIP Lounge is an especially welcome touch, giving you a chance to catch your breath upon arrival and enjoy something to eat or a “welcome to Jamaica” cocktail. You could even rinse off the airplane germs in the shower if you want! It’s much more pleasant than standing outside in the heat, waiting for your transportation.
Since international travelers are advised to be at the airport 3 hours before departure (and this is when your transportation will drop you off), being able to hang out in a luxurious lounge—with private restrooms and free snacks!—can make that experience much more pleasant. (And perhaps you decide to maximize your time on the beach that last day by waiting to shower until you get to the lounge!)
Booking Club Mobay VIP services can help your travel to and from Jamaica be as easy and stress-free as possible.
So what do you think? Now that you know more about what Club Mobay is, do you think Club Mobay is worth it?
