If you’re planning a trip to Roosevelt Island to see the cherry blossoms, there are three main areas to visit. The first, Cherry Tree Walk, is located south of Queensboro Bridge and is home to the most famous spot for cherry blossoms. You can also find Yoshino and Kwanzan trees here. The second spot is Eleanor’s Pier, which is also south of Queensboro Bridge and is a great spot for viewing cherry blossoms. Lastly, Cornell Tech, located south of Queensboro Bridge along East Loop Road, has a few Okame trees.
Crowds
During cherry blossom season, the main cherry blossom area south of the bridge can get very busy. If you’re a photographer or just want to avoid the crowds, it’s best to head there early in the morning. Do note that some of the trees will have the sun blocked by nearby buildings in the very early morning. Another option is to go later in the day for a more peaceful experience.
The best way to avoid crowds is to book accommodations on the island. We stayed at The Graduate so we could walk out of our hotel in the morning to get photos early. They also have a bar on the top floor called the Panoramic Room that is open very late with amazing views of Manhattan.

Ferry
