Cabo San Lucas is a beautiful vacation destination that has something for everyone. One of the best things about Cabo is its endless list of activities and adventures to take part in while visiting. The following are our top 10 “must do” items if you plan on going to Cabo:
Take a ride on a Cabo San Lucas Jet Ski tour
If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush while in Cabo, a jet ski tour is a perfect activity! You’ll get to zip around the coastline at high speeds, and there’s no shortage of beautiful scenery to take in. Tours are typically about two hours long, and you can choose from various routes depending on your interests.
Some tour companies also offer jet skiing lessons, so if you’re new to the activity, don’t worry – you’ll be able to learn all the basics before hitting the waves. Just make sure to wear a life jacket and sunscreen, and you’re good to go!
On this Jet Ski tour, you will set out from the Cabo San Lucas marina on an inflatable fast boat and head to the famous Arch of Cabo. Take a quick stop for great photos at the sea lion colony and lover’s beach before heading out into the open ocean.
From there you will hop on your jet ski and after a quick test run to make sure you are comfortable with the jet ski, you’ll head off to explore the stunning coastline.
Enjoy the views of the sandy dunes and deep blue Sea of Cortes as you cruise past homes of the rich and famous. Once you have experienced the beauty of the bay, open up the throttle and take a fun, thrilling journey back towards Cabo. During the winter months, don’t forget to look out for giant humpback whales breaching in the ocean.

Dance The Night Away at El Squid Roe
El Squid Roe is a nightclub, dance hall, and restaurant perfect for a good meal or a fun night out. The bar is three stories of pulsating energy and is now one of the most popular dance clubs in the nightlife scene of Cabo San Lucas.
Waiters armed with tequila spray tanks weave through the masses while table-dancers get lost in the deafening dance music. Three stories above, a swarm of spectators encircles the open-air dance floor. The waiters definitely deserve hazard pay here.
See The Arch of Cabo
The Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a beautiful arch that was carved out of the rocks on the shoreline. The arch is about 60 feet high and spans about 120 feet across the ocean. The arch has been carved over time, as rough winds and the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez erode the rocks away.
To arrive at the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, you can book a water taxi or go kayaking. We recommend a snorkel and kayak tour that will not only take you by the Archbut also to Lover’s beach, Divorce beach, and to see sea lions.
Tour the Cabo Turtle Hatchery
Five out of seven of the world’s endangered sea turtles inhabit the Baja California Peninsula. Unfortunately, it is estimated that 35,000 sea turtles are illegally hunted and killed annually throughout the area.
From the end of August to the beginning of December you can take part in helping baby sea turtles make it to the ocean. You can book a tour that includes adopting a baby turtle that you will release into the wild, allowing it to make its way into the ocean.
After releasing your adopted sea turtle you can relax and enjoy the sunset at the beach.
Visit Todos Santos
One perfect day trip from Cabo is to Todos Santos. This historic artist colony is located just 90 minutes up the coast and it is full of charm, with its narrow cobblestone streets and brightly painted colonial-era buildings. It’s also home to a wealth of art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants.
The town was founded in the early 1800’s by a group of Danish immigrants and boasts many historic buildings, including the oldest church in Baja. It is also famous for its surfing beaches which are home to some of Mexico’s best surf breaks.
Take some time to stroll through downtown Todos Santos, relax at one of the cafes, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Be sure to check out some of the art galleries, which feature a wide range of local and international artists. And if you’re feeling hungry, there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from, serving everything from Mexican food to sushi.

Visit the Cabo Wabo Cantina. This restaurant and bar is owned by rock legend Sammy Hagar, who you’ll find at this location almost every night of the week!
Go on a whale watching tour
Cabo is an amazing place to go Whale watching as thousands of whales make their way from the artic to warmer waters where they can breed and give birth. Whales off the coast can be seen from December to April, and the best time to see them is during January and February. You can actually see humpback whales from the shore, but for almost guaranteed sightings in the winter you can take a boat tour from the marina.
Our preference is a zodiac boat tour, which is a small group on a speedy small boat with guaranteed sightings of whales or your money back.
Go on a Fishing Excursion
Cabo is a world-renowned destination for sport fishing so if you are ever going to go deep-sea fishing, this is the place to do it. The clear blue waters and abundant sea life make it an ideal spot to catch marlin, sailfish, tuna, and other game fish.

There are also plenty of other meat options at these taquerias, including chicken and fish tacos. And don’t forget about the salsas! Salsas can be added to any taco order for a small additional charge, and each salsa has its own unique flavor. You can’t go wrong adding some salsa verde or salsa roja to your tacos!
