How To Spend a Honeymoon In Belize

Belize is becoming one of the top destinations for honeymooners with the ultimate warm, tropical setting with easy access from the United States. The small country is perfect for adventurous couples who would take advantage of access to the second largest barrier reef in the world while still relaxing on the beautiful beaches. Enjoy your water activity of choice from kayaking, windsurfing, swimming, fishing or just laying on the beach.

Just inland you find Mayan archaeological sites and national parks with wildlife like howler monkeys and over 570 bird species.

When to honeymoon in Belize

Belize’s high and dry season for tourism and pricing is from the end of November to April. Dry weather permits all the fun and adventure only paired with a bigger crowd. The coolest months during the day are low to mid 70’s from December to February and low to high 80’s from June to October leaving March, April and May somewhere in the middle, so the “best” time really has no fixed answer.

Starting off the low, wet season, May through early November are great months to visit if you’re interested in 30 to 50% discounts on accommodations and or tours and other things. Showers usually only last one or two hours, but in case of a hurricane running your vacation short, look into some travel insurance.

Where to Honeymoon in Belize

Ambergris Caye is the largest and most popular tourist island in Belize and can be reached by plane or boat. At Ambergris Caye you can visit the second largest barrier reef in the world, the Belize Barrier Reef or dive into The Big Blue Hole on another aquatic adventure. Take a 40-minute golf cart drive from the capital, San Pedro, through the wilderness of Belize to get to the Secret Beach for some peace, seclusion, a cold drink and a fresh meal.
